Amp Up Your Game: 5 Fail-Proof Tips
I Had no Idea What I was Getting Myself Into
It was 1998. I just graduated from a small school along the edges of the Puyallup River in Tacoma, Washington. I was one of three students in my graduating class who got accepted to college. And only two of us got accepted into a top-tier research university. It was only until my first class, a lecture hall filled with over 500 students, that I was hit with a ton of bricks. I did not know what I was getting myself into.
I felt like a fish out of water. My first year was tough on all fronts. It required becoming part of a whole new culture that I knew nothing about. I missed home, gained weight, and felt disconnected from this whole new world. I also felt incredible pressure to succeed. It was a perfect storm, but, in the midst of a looming dark cloud, I found a silver lining.
I was determined to find a solution and called my mentor and uncle. He was trained in this kind of work and helped me find all of the resources and support I needed to learn the ropes, navigate college. I succeeded. I went on to travel overseas and conduct undergraduate research that would prepare me for completing my Graduate degree. I soon discovered where the source of success comes from and the power of a coach, advisor, and trainer.
To excel in our craft, we need trained and trusted professionals who have the education, training, and experience to support us and our goals. The right people with the right tools and methods for proper execution equals success. I applied this to my training in bodybuilding, powerlifting, and outrigger canoe sports.
Through education and fitness, I have since dedicated my life to the determined at heart who are ready to amp up their game and their power. A performance coach will put you on the fast track to maintaining the clean and competitive edge you are looking for.
